Hope is a good thing and...

Life certainly is a journey full of Twist and Turns, incredibly Topsy and amazingly Turvy. You never know when and where you will find your chosen one and what will help you to figure out that he/she is the one. If you are an ardent believer of serendipity, luck by chance, sudden change of fate, follow omens all the time you have reason to be always optimistic, even in the worst of the circumstances. In his wildest dreams, Harish Kumar - an auto driver from Jaipur would hardly have dreamt of celebrating his honeymoon in America but now he must not only be ecstatic for finding his love but also excited about spending cherishable times ahead: HarishMarryingWhitney

Reflecting the story on the my wilderness, I have the reached the conclusion that there are three (m thinking for more and your aid is welcome) major obstacles:

0. I am not an auto driver *.
1. There are no autos in Belgium.
2. and hence no Belgian/Europian girl drives them.

LoL...So, disheartening :-( but I am still not lost. With a card open and close to my heart, I keep believing in Gabriel García Márquez theory from Love in the time of Cholera: "Hope is a Good Thing and Good Things don't Die".

* Autos and Taxis are two distinct vehicles and hence Auto driver and Taxi driver should be treated with similar distinction.

Ad World Mad World!!!

Kudos to admen/women who come with unimaginable ideas out of the blue every now and then. In a minute or two, the entire message is conveyed and conveyed with perfection. In a fraction of a second, the smile on each and every face acts as the receipt of acknowledgment to an astonishingly curious mind who sees the world through his/her own eyes.

Obviously there are many many beautiful (Fevicol, Cadbury, Arial, Surf are some of the favorites) ads and the list is endless if one decides to rank them. However, I had not seen these two amazing ads before so thought of sharing these with the audience. I jumped screaming out of my seat and recommend you to hold your seats tight while watching these:

Certainly Ad World is a Mad World, any doubts?

Incredible Racquet Shots

Although Federer was not lucky enough against Del Petro in the US Open finals, this US Open 2009 would always be in the memory for an incredible shot Federer played against Djokovic during the semifinal bout: http://www.youtube.com/FedererShot

Djokovic looks in complete control of the point until Federer came up with this spectacular beauty out of nowhere. To me the shot was the shot of the Day, shot of the championship, shot of the Year and may be the most incredible shot of the century. This is what makes racquet sports so spectacular, so much entertaining to watch. This is what we as spectators love to watch and savor for a long long time.

Here are some incredible shots in other racquet sports. I love to watch these time and again:

Peter Gade, the danish badminton player has been at the helm of the top badminton circuit for a long long time now. The incredible deceptive forehand he played against his opponent is what I look forward to play every time I land on court: http://www.youtube.com/PeterGadeTrickShot

During my entire tenure at National Semiconductor - Bangalore, what everybody in the Office was passionate about was Ping Pong/Table Tennis (TT). Not to mention that, each and everyone of us improved manifolds in our game because of the competitive spirits with which we used to play. Wish the guys nowadays are practicing with the same zeal and are now trying some of these top 10 Table Tennis shots/rallies: http://www.youtube.com/TopTenTTShots

Being at the top of the sport, the stars make it look so easy but the fact of the matter is that they do practice these shots and it's not that they get simply lucky on the day. I am sure Federer must have tried his shot during numerous practice sessions as Peter Gade is practicing his forehand/backhand trick shots (for those who want to practice) for the audiance:

Simply Incredible!!! Long Live Racuqet Sports!!!

Happy Engineers' Day!!!

I never knew there exists an Engineer's Day and it's celebrated every year on Sept. 15h, until Mahesh, my engineering friend forwarded this hilarious snippet to me:

You can be a doctor and save lives...

You can be a lawyer and defend lives...

You can be a soldier and protect lives...

But why to play with others lives...simply be an engineer and screw up (my version: mind) your own life...

If you are an engineer, you will echo these feelings for sure. If you are not the lucky one, you probably don't know what you are missing!!! Happy Engineers' Day to all...

Yahoooooo!!!!! No Rat Race @ Class X

HRD ministry in India has recently come up with many steps to reform education sector. Percentage marks in Class X will now be a history and would be replaced by grades accompanied by a percentile score. In this interview, the HRD minister Kapil Sibal explains the plethora of reforms that would indeed reform the education sector. As with most of the Indian legislations, the devil in this case also lies in the implementation. Usually optimistic, I sincerely hope this is a step in the right direction and would make education a fun place as dreamed by the HRD minister in his poem he narrates at the end of the interview:

Please rid me of this awful load!
preparing for the Class X board!!

My thirsty mind craves to create!
Not have exams decide my fate!!

My wondrous eyes yearn to explore!
Much beyond my classroom door!!

My dreams should not be cut to size!
Just because I hate to memorize!!

If you test me for brains and guile!
Don't have to look at percentile!!

With text book I should start to serve!
Enquiringly looking for a new turn!!

Walk away from a trodden path!
Not inviting my teachers' wrath!!

Solving a sum will not help find!
The real answer for a questioning mind!!

Create a place for a lot to learn!
Let learning be a lot of fun!!

Natural Born Hikers (NBH) Song :)))

Landscapes to pass, Challenges to don!
We are hikers naturally born!!

Call me crazy, call me mad
When it comes of walking, I am not that bad

I take steps, one at a time
The monumental distance, falls to a dime

We walk slow, we walk fast
We give our best, till we last

Landscapes to pass, Challenges to don!
We are hikers, naturally born!!
